Breathwork
What Is Breathwork?
Breathwork (informed by the Holotropic tradition) is an experiential, body-centred approach that uses conscious, connected breathing to support emotional and psychological processing. In a session, you lie comfortably while engaging in a guided, rhythmic breathing pattern that can quiet habitual thinking and deepen access to inner experience. As the breath intensifies, physical sensations, emotions, memories, or imagery may arise. The process is primarily inward, allowing material to emerge and move through the body without analysis, at a pace that feels workable for you. Some people enter non-ordinary or expanded states of awareness, which may feel meaningful, symbolic, or at times spiritual. Effects may be felt during the session and can continue to unfold in the days that follow, often bringing a sense of lightness, clarity, or release.
When Breathwork May Be Helpful
Breathwork may be helpful if you are seeking:
• Deeper emotional processing
• Greater self-understanding or perspective
• Support during significant life transitions
• Resolution of unresolved emotional experiences
• Release of emotional charge, including fear, grief, or resentment
• Relief from long-held stress patterns
• A way of letting go of something or someone
